What Other People Say:
"The webinar on “Keys to Preventing and Healing Shoulder Injuries” with Ellen Saltonstall and Dr. Loren Fishman was truly one of the very best seminars I have attended on rotator cuff kinesiology, function and rehab. Highly recommended." ~ Reni, Instructor
This is a recording of a two-part webinar previously offered by Dr. Fishman and Ellen Saltonstall. Highlights of the webinar include:
- A review of the anatomy and kinesiology of the shoulder with particular attention to the four muscles of the rotator cuff, as well as the muscles most commonly injured in rotator cuff syndrome.
- An overview of the principal soft-tissue injuries of the shoulder and how to distinguish between them and identify the actual problem in individual cases.
- A careful review of the most common errors people make in their yoga practice, and the yoga postures which put students the most at risk of shoulder injuries, plus key points of a safe practice.
- An in-depth exploration of the asana that is the most effective—in many cases nearly miraculously curative—for rotator cuff injuries, as well as best ways to practice the asana. By using this simple technique in his practice, Dr. Fishman has been able to help 90 percent of more than 700 people with rotator cuff injuries make progress and avoid surgery.
- Details of a practice to help prevent rotator cuff injury, and to reduce pain in practitioners who already have this condition.
This webinar also included time for specific questions and answers, and it will be useful for yoga teachers, therapists, and students seeking to further understand this condition and the elements of a safe yoga practice.
Bonus - Special Report on Yoga Injuries & How to Avoid Them
Receive a special report on yoga injuries based on a survey of more than 33,000 yoga teachers and therapists by Dr. Fishman, Ellen Saltonstall, and Susan Genis. It provides an overview of the most common types of yoga injuries, as well as the yoga asanas that tend to present the most risk. It further goes more deeply into the key factors that are important for reducing injuries in yoga classes.
Dr. Loren Fishman: FREE Report: Osteoporosis Drugs: Bad for Your Body—And For Your Bones?
Osteoporosis is a near-epidemic age-related condition, often known as the “silent thief,” because bone loss occurs without any symptoms. Forty-four million Americans are known to have low bone mass. That amounts to 55% of everyone over 50. An estimated, 70% of hip fractures are related to osteoporosis, and 50% of those fractures result in death or permanent disability. In fact, a woman’s risk of hip fracture is equal to the combined risk of breast, uterine and ovarian cancer. To get Dr. Fishman's free report, click here.
