Free Download! Fascia - The Hidden Key to Mind-Body Transformation. An Interview with Tom Myers
Tom Myers is the originator of the concept of Anatomy Trains, which maps the body as an interconnected network of whole-body fascial and myofascial linkages.
Rather than looking at the muscles as individual units, this 'anatomy of connection' teaches us that the muscles are linked into functional complexes. This in turn has profound implications for our understanding of whole-body patterning in posture and function. Understanding the functional relations of muslces gives us insight into postural and movement patterns in a way that no analysis of any single muscle can give.
In this interview with Yoga U Online, Tom discusses how fascia, the fundamental connective biological matrix of the body, is not just an inert wrapping material, as was previously thought. Rather, fascia is now increasingly recognized as an independent regulatory system and it may hold the key to changing not just human form but also behavior and emotional patterns.
