Kali Ray

Mudra, Chanting, Meditation, Asana, Philosophy Specialist
Internationally acclaimed yogini, Kali Ray, (Kaliji) is the founder of TriYoga, a complete yoga method that incorporates the full range of timeless, traditional practices.

In the tradition of ancient yoga, the origin and development of TriYoga's hatha yoga practice is guided by kriyavati siddhi as expressed through Kaliji since 1980. From this inner guidance, she has fully systematized TriYoga Flow and Prana Vidya (the trinity of breathing, concentration and meditation) from Basics to Level 7. With a natural ability to integrate Eastern tradition and Western culture, she shares these practices and philosophy in a way that has inspired and transformed countless lives.

To support a home practice, Kali Ray has produced a series of TriYoga Flow DVDs that include Free the Hips, Free the Spine, Strengthening, Gentle Cardio, Seniors and Yoga for Two. DVDs on a variety of additional topics are planned and will be released on a regular basis.

Chant Club®, a musical ensemble offering Sanskrit chants in call-and-response style, was founded by Kaliji. Chant Club includes in its repertoire the devotional music of Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji, renowned spiritual teacher and master of nada yoga (yoga of sound).

A practicing vegan for 30 years, Kali Ray has given many presentations on the benefits of a vegetarian/vegan diet. Her example has inspired thousands to make healthier food choices.

She has served on the boards of EarthSave, Youth for Environmental Sanity, and Vegetarian Lifestyle magazine. She regularly presents at the Swami Vivekananda Yoga Research Center near Bangalore, India.

In her early twenties, Kaliji chose the Sannyasa lifestyle. Twelve years later H. H. Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji of Mysore, India initiated her as a Swamini in the Jayalakshmi Datta Avadhoota lineage. Presently, she serves on the executive board of Datta Yoga Center, USA.
