Kartar Singh Khalsa

Kundalini Yoga and Meditation Teacher

Kartar Singh has taught Kundalini Yoga and meditation since 1975, and has taken a special interest in yoga and mediation since the beginning of his practice.  He was a 30 year student of Yogi Bhajan, the man responsible for bringing Kundalini Yoga to the West.  That study included a series of fascinating personal interactions about the restoration of the neutral mind, and tools for dealing with imbalance.

He’s long been a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher and in 1997 became a Kundalini Yoga teacher trainer.  Shortly thereafter he took mediation facilitation training at the Institute for the Advancement of Service in Alexandria, Va.

He’s facilitated difficult mediations for many groups in many settings, and frequently teaches courses in the skills of successful communication and deep listening.  Recently he’s begun teaching mini relaxation sessions in business settings.

He also teaches courses in parenting with awareness and personal transformation through KY with his wife, Shakta Kaur.

Kartar is the National Sales Manager for Natural Foods for Golden Temple Cereals and Yogi Tea so he teaches weekend workshops, and regularly teaches at the Summer and Winter Solstice gatherings.  Over the Thanksgiving week he is travelling to Bangkok, Thailand to teach at the Asian Yoga Festival.
He lives with his wife and teenage son Ram Das in Herndon, Va.
