Yoga Teacher, Author, Yoga for Children

Donna Freeman started doing yoga when expecting her oldest child while living in Cape Town, Canada. “There was a yoga studio just down the street from our flat, so when my doctor said no more running, I figured I’d give it a try,” says Donna. It was love at first sight, and Donna soon began integrating yoga into her work as an elementary school teacher.

To share her enthusiasm for yoga and how it relates to healthy development for kids, Donna created Yoga In My School, a program offering different approaches to teaching kids yoga, suitable both for parents, school teachers, and yoga teachers. Donna is the author of Once Upon a Pose: A Guide To Yoga Adventure Stories for Children, and her work has been highlighted by the Wall Street Journal, Reader’s Digest, CTV and Breakfast Television. Donna is passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga to empower youth to live their best lives. She works tirelessly to build the kids’ yoga community and create resources which make teaching yoga to kids fun, accessible and easy. Donna lives in St Albert, Alberta, Canada with her husband and four children, and when not on the computer or at the yoga studio, loves to garden and take the dog for walks across the Prairies.
