The reason why we feel better after a yoga class is because we have changed our prana, or our energy body. We have moved energy (that may have been stuck in our shoulders or hips from a day of work) into different parts of our bodies, and in this way, cleared out any minor blockages that may have occurred throughout the day. Sadly, most of us go through life without ever having a deeper relationship to our energetic selves. The key to healing, from a more Tantric perspective, involves unraveling the pranic patternings that lead to energetic stuck-ness.

Prana is roughly translated as life force. When we have good amounts of prana, moving within us in the right way, we feel good on a mental, emotional and physical level. We get drained, physically and emotionally, when prana leaves our body through our over-stimulated lives. This makes us feel crummy. Life shouldn’t feel crummy. In this workshop, Katie will define prana, and more importantly help us to connect with it, move it, build it, and use it to dissolve blocks (i.e. emotions and old mind states that are not helpful anymore). This course will include lecture, asana practice and meditation.
