Aging is not the ending of your story—it is an invitation to keep writing it.

Join yoga teacher James Knight, founder of Gentle Somatic Yoga®, for a transformational four-part journey that will redefine your relationship with your body and your understanding of what movement and exercise can be.

This is not another program to help you hold on to what you have. It's an invitation to remember, repattern, strengthen, and embody a version of yourself with more freedom, resilience, and joy than you may have thought possible.

Series Overview

There is no single destination here. Only doorways—one opening after another, each leading you deeper into yourself.

The deeper invitation is to cultivate a lifelong relationship with your body through curiosity rather than fear, exploration rather than limitation, and wisdom rather than striving.

Most movement education teaches people what to do. Somatic Wisdom™ teaches people how to listen. When we learn to listen, we rediscover our innate capacity to self-correct, adapt, and thrive.

This is not a temporary fix or a bandage. It is the ongoing process of rewiring the brain, strengthening the body, reclaiming forgotten parts of ourselves, and developing the confidence to move through life with greater freedom, pleasure, and resilience.

Healthy aging is about far more than preserving any single capacity—it is about cultivating a lifelong relationship with the wisdom of your own body, one that can strengthen every dimension of how you move, feel, and live as you age.

In this four-part series, James Knight introduces a fresh perspective on healthy aging through the lens of Somatic Wisdom™. Rather than focusing solely on muscles, flexibility, or exercise, participants will learn how the nervous system, brain-to-muscle communication, and mindful movement work together to create resilient strength, greater ease, and more pleasure in everyday movement.

Each session in this series combines Gentle Somatic Yoga®, Somatic Movement Flows®, and practical strategies that can immediately be integrated into daily life. While every practice in the series stands on its own, together they offer a progressive journey from increasing awareness to creating sustainable movement patterns that support resilience, independence, and vitality for years to come.

Whether navigating stiffness, recovering from injury, managing bone or joint concerns, or simply wanting to move through life with greater confidence and vitality, participants will discover that generative change remains possible at every stage of life.

Rather than viewing aging as a process of decline, this series invites a new perspective—one of curiosity, exploration, and discovery. Through cultivating Somatic Wisdom™, you will learn to trust their body's innate capacity for adaptation, resilience, and lifelong growth. Aging becomes not an ending, but an invitation to continue evolving, learning, and embodying greater freedom.

I wanted to expand on my thank you. Yoga U Online has been an absolute lifesaver for me. I moved from a yoga mecca to a yoga desert. Instead of having my choice of teachers and styles and special workshops, I now have to travel an hour to take a class. The excellent teachers and interesting topics at Yoga U Online have kept me moving ahead in my practice. I am grateful for all the wonderful yoga you bring to me. Thank you.
