Chocolate Orange Mousse

A mood-boosting and brain-boosting treat that will improve your day and keep your body satisfied! The combination of chocolate and avocado spiced with a splash of orange and a sprinkling of cinnamon whips up into the creamiest, dreamiest dessert that feels just as good as it tastes!
INGREDIENTS
Serves 2 to 3
- 2 ripe avocados
- ¼ cup raw cacao powder
- 1-2 tablespoons coconut milk (adjust to desired consistency)
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- Juice from half an orange (about 1 tablespoon)
- 1 teaspoon orange zest (plus more for garnish)
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of sea salt (Do not skip this!)
- Toppings: cacao nibs or shaved chocolate, grated orange zest
METHOD
- Place all ingredients in a food processor or high-speed blender. (Food processor works great.)
- Slowly add in a splash or two of coconut milk until the mixture reaches desired consistency, scraping down the sides as necessary. (This is a thick dessert.)
- Place mousse in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors set before serving.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Serve in individual small bowls and sprinkle with orange zest and shaved chocolate or cacao nibs. Dig in!
