Yoga Pose Video Tutorial for Locust Pose
Salabhasana
There are many ways to perform Locust Pose, all of which have unique benefits. In the most traditional variation of Salabhasana, both the upper and lower body (the legs) lift simultaneously. For back pain sufferers, keeping the legs grounded and focusing the lift in the upper body can mitigate possible strain. In this position, it’s still possible to engage the entire back body, including the legs.
In this yoga video tutorial, YogaUOnline’s Jasmine Punzalan walks you through the steps of Salabhasana with the legs on the ground and adds an arm variation to free up the shoulders. Follow along to learn how to move into this backbending yoga pose.
