In this Practice Tutorial, Marlysa covers the basic actions needed to prepare the body for forward bends and working towards deeper forward folds. This includes learning how to move the pelvis, hips and spine in relationship to each other to stretch safely, as well as working with beginning and warm up postures to help the body open for more advanced forward folding. She also introduces the yogic perspective on movement practice, i.e. building greater mindfulness and discriminative awareness. We focus on the relationship of body, mind and energy in creating tension or ease in our body and the importance of relaxation to build awareness and to safely move our bodies.
