Robin Rothenberg, C-IAYT is director of Essential Yoga Therapy, an IAYT Accredited Therapist Training located outside Seattle. Robin has a unique background which combines, the Iyengar and Viniyoga therapeutic yoga traditions, with functional anatomy training, and a deep study of respiratory science and pranayama. She is the author of Restoring Prana: A Therapeutic Guide to Pranayama and Healing Through the Breath and The Essential Low Back Program: Relieve Pain and Restore Health.  Robin has been highly involved in yoga research developing protocols for National Institutes of Health studies on yoga therapy for back pain, arthritis, and menopausal hot flashes. She served on the IAYT-Accreditation Committee for six years and continues to support the association as a member of the Advisory Council.

Credentials

Certified in the Iyengar method through 1996, and went on to receive certification in the Viniyoga tradition with Gary Kraftsow of American Viniyoga Institute, completing Therapist Training with him in 2000. Robin is also a Certified Buteyko Breathing Educator, and completed her training as a Spiritual Director in 2009.
