Sharon Mitchell, PTA, ACE Personal Trainer, 500 RYT


Sharon received her Yoga training in Raja* and Hatha Yoga at the Himalayan Institute, in the lineage of Swami Rama beginning in 1998. The Himalayan asana style is classical Hatha yoga, considered gentle, with focus on breath awareness, strengthening, stabilizing, range of motion.  She also teaches meditation. She studies and practices the 8 (ashtanga) limbs of Yoga described in Pada 2 of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. She is registered as 500 RYT with the Yoga Alliance, and is also a certified personal trainer with The American Council on Exercise since 1998, and a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant since July, 2013. She has been incorporating yoga asana in her work as a PTA under the direction of a Doctor of Physical Therapy to assist PT clients with breath awareness, stabilization and range of motion therapeutic exercises, when not teaching asana and meditation.
