YOGA hOMe Studio & Ayurveda Centre
Originally drawn to yoga for physical fitness at a local health club in 2007, Tara shortly realized a spiritual, physical and mental shift which led to seek more yoga. In 2010 the practice guided her to attend a YogaFit level 1 weekend certification. In 2013 she attended a “Real Evolution Yoga” weekend workshop in Austin Texas.
Her teaching started at Awakened Yoga in the fall of 2012, where she taught for just under a year. This short experience prepared her to move on. She has consistently taught since the opening of BE yoga Studio in the fall of 2014. A few months at BE led her to pursue a 200 hr teacher training at the Himalayan Institute. She felt the importance to grow her personal practice to benefit teaching students. She attended The Himalayan Yoga Institute for 25 days in the summer of 2015. At that time she was initiated into the Institute's lineage. Her training allowed her to take away a container of love to support others with their learning.
In November of 2015 she completed a Calming Kids Elementary online certification which was inspired by teaching a children's class at BE Yoga Studio.
Her continuing yoga education and practice is a lifelong commitment. April 2017 completed her 500 hr Yoga Teacher training through Himalayan Institute, recognized by Yoga Alliance. In addition, she completed their Ayurveda Yoga Specialist certification with Kathryn Templeton in June 2016, recognized by NAMA (National Ayurveda Medical Association). She is currently enrolled in their Ayurveda Health Counselor program and plans to graduate in March 2017. This certification from this extensive training will allow her to provide her clients with valuable services. Learning Ayurveda, the sister science to yoga, has awakened her to the importance of this applicable practice. Ayurveda in conjunction with yoga has helped find her purpose in life. She opened Yoga Home Studio and Ayurveda Centre on April 1, 2016 to share her past teachings and shared wisdom.
Tara teaches Chair, Hatha, Gentle and Restorative group classes. She provides workshops and courses in the subjects of relaxation, meditation and Ayurveda. Her broader teaching experience comes from teaching the Millikin University Golf player athletes. She also has involvement in teaching cancer patients at the Cancer Care Institute for a case study called YOCAS. This was developed by a physician from the University of Rochester, and has given her experience to work with a broader student base.
The ancient practice of yoga for all, passed down by our great sages, in hopes to help other's find their purpose and best self. She describes her classes as simple and challenging to cultivate inner awareness. Classes are alignment based to keep you safe with modifications offered for your capabilities. EveryBODY is not built the same nor can they move the same. Yoga asana in combination with meditation, pranayama and ayurveda practices offer a pathway to self-healing and transformation. Always growing on this yogic path in hopes to guide her students to their inner teacher and healing.
